REFLEXOLOGY

The American Reflexology Certification Board defines Reflexology as "a non-invasive complimentary modality involving thumb and finger techniques to apply alternating pressure to reflexes shown on reflex maps of the body located on the feet, hands and ears" (ARCB). Reflexology is much more than a foot massage.

By stimulating these reflexes, the body is brought into balance, stress and tension reduced and the body's natural healing is activated. While there are few (if any) conditions that cannot benefit from the healing effects of reflexology, some of the more documented conditions that can achieve some relief are:

ALLERGIES and SINUS PROBLEMS

CONSTIPATION, NAUSEA and REFLUX

DIABETES and THYROID IMBALANCES

HEADACHES and MIGRAINES

NECK and BACKACHES

ARTHRITIS and MUSCLE ACHES

PMS and HORMONAL IMBALANCES

FATIGUE

INSOMNIA

STRESS

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

CANCER TREATMENT SIDE EFFECTS

I have been practicing reflexology for over 15 years and provided relief for many clients with all of these conditions. A particular group I would like to reach out to however, are those diagnosed with cancer, as well as their loved ones. In the research section you will find over 20 studies that demonstrate a positive impact in reducing anxiety, nausea, vomiting and fatigue and improving quality of life. There is currently a large NCI funded study being conducted at Michigan State University (Click here to go to study) showing the beneficial effects of Reflexology for breast cancer patients.

With 10 years of experience counseling cancer patients, I feel drawn to helping those of you facing this challenge and easing your journey.

In addition to the profound effects on your whole body, reflexology is a wonderful modality for aching hands and feet. PLANTAR FASCIITIS is an inflammatory condition where the fascia on the sole of the foot attaches to the heal. Many issues contribute to this problem, including biomechanical inbalances.By manipulating and stretching the soft tissues of the calves with muscle release techniques and loosening the joints of the feet, I have had much success in relieving this condition. Simliar techniques for the forearms and hands are helpful in CARPEL TUNNEL symptoms. Many foot problems including METATARSALGIA, MORTENS NEUROMA and PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY can be relieved or improved with these techniques and Reflexology.

When your feet hurt, your whole body eventually aches and when your feet are happy, your whole body and being know it.
